Mass murder in Australia

Daily WireIn Osmington, a town of just 135 people in southwest Australia, seven people were killed in what could be the largest shooting the nation has seen in more than two decades.

According to the Associated Press, when police were called to the home at approximately 5:15 a.m. local time Friday, they found the bodies of three adults and four children.

The killer appears to have been legally licensed to own his firearm according to Australia law. There are calls for more gun control, of course, just like in 1996, 2002, and 2003. Existing policies there include confiscation and "buybacks" of both "assault weapons" and ordinary handguns, strict licensing rules and regulations on ownership and storage, and requirements that owners demonstrate a "genuine need". Gun control doesn't stop gun crime.

The force driving gun control is the desire of government to have a populace which cannot defend itself, and is thus vulnerable to the police, and simultaneously requires their protection from other malicious actors. It's job security.

And it keeps moving because no matter what you do, no matter what laws you pass, no matter what restrictions you try to make, there will always be criminals who desire to murder people and find a way to do it, just starting the next call for more restrictions. In Britain, they are banning knives. it will never stop.
