IG Horowitz: Investigation complete, report being drafted

CNSNewsRep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) said he met with Justice Department Inspector-General Michael Horowitz last week to discuss the status of the IG's report on alleged FISA abuse by the FBI.

"We talked about his report, the timing of his report, not the content," Ratcliffe told Fox News Monday night.

"And he related that his team's investigative work is complete, and they're now in the process of drafting that report. So I would expect that a draft of that will be completed in short order. I will tell you though, I don't expect that any of us are going to see any time real soon."

"He did relate that as much as 20 percent of his report is probably going to include classified information, so that draft report will have to undergo a classification review at the FBI and at the Department of Justice. So, while I am hopeful that we might see it before members of Congress recess for the August recess, I'm not too certain about that," Ratcliffe said.

I have viewed the Horowitz report on FISA abuse as a gateway process for some time now. Gateway as in, he has to finish and issue the report before significant other actions -- like prosecutions -- begin to happen. That was the pattern with his report on the Hillary email investigation; first the report, then criminal referrals, which we eventually found out were all declined (presumably due to internal sabotage at DOJ).

I can only hope that the prosecutor working with Horowitz is ready to file charges immediately, or perhaps has already done so before a secret grand jury. Because people are very, very tired of nothing being done. If the DOJ and FBI can delay this until a new President is in the White House, they'll never face justice for their corrupt and treasonous acts.
