Was Sessions in on the coup?

The FederalistAccording to one of these memos, Rosenstein and McCabe determined they needed to peel off eight of the 15 cabinet officials. And Rosenstein suggested that he might have supporters “in the attorney general and the secretary of homeland security.”

The Attorney General at the time was Sessions. This would explain why Sessions refused to rein in the Mueller probe or otherwise actually take control of the Justice Department he was supposed to be running. And, worse, it casts dramatic doubt on anything Sessions put in place later -- including appointing Huber and any directions Sessions gave Inspector General Horowitz, whose report on the FISA abuse matters is still outstanding, but whose report on the Clinton Email Investigation can be fairly described as a whitewash, at least in the executive summary.
