What to make of this?

Of Arms and the LawPassed 51-49. Murkowski of Republicans defected to vote no, but Manchin of the Demos defected to vote yes. Now 30 hours of debate are allowed before the final vote on confirmation.

What to make of this?

Well, 51 votes is enough. And they didn't need Pence, meaning they can afford to lose one more if necessary. Flake voted yes (I assume, if Murkowski was the only no vote). Manchin crossing over (he's a red state Dem) gives McConnell even more wiggle room.

I think this means we'll have Justice Kavanaugh by Monday.
