The man he nominated to fill Scalia's seat
supported the ban on handguns in DC that Scalia struck down in the landmark Heller decision. That alone is enough to declare the nomination dead in the water, at least as far as I am concerned.
He's not much good on other civil liberties either.
Senate Republicans are saying they won't cave. I hope that's accurate, but
some Senate Republicans are already suggesting they would be willing to meet with the nominee. If they are sending "cave" signals
now how can they possibly hold out until 2017?
