Democrats trying to pass an assault weapons ban

Gateway PunditOn Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee moved a bill forward that would ban assault weapons, but it’s unclear if the legislation has enough support to pass a floor vote.

After an hours-long markup, the committee approved, in a 25-18 vote, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2021. The bill, sponsored by Democrat Rep. David Cicilline

HR 1808 is coming to a vote.

It looks like 212 or 218 needed, so a close vote. There are always a few Republican squishes available, though. Call your House representatives and do it fast. They moved the red flag bill through the Senate at lightning speed to avoid gun owners making their voices heard.

We can't rely on the Senate to stop this, as red flag laws recently passed with Republican support. Contact your representatives. Be persuasive.

We may get a vote on this today. Pelosi lost her first attempt to whip votes, but she thinks she has them now.
