Austin paying people to appear at public meetings

KXAN The Austin Police Association (APA) is calling for transparency after questions about payments the City of Austin made to get gift cards for community members at a Reimagining Public Safety (RPS) task force listening session.

A City of Austin spokesperson said up to $23,000 was budgeted by the city’s equity office to provide gift cards to help encourage participation from under-represented communities that are disproportionately impacted by policing and public safety inequities at the task force’s virtual community listening session on April 10.

Well, this is a new (to me) scam. Hold a public meeting and pay "your people" to appear. You win coming and going -- your people get paid out of the public coffers to advocate for the policies you already want and present an illusion of public support for them.

USCCA to get involved in politics

The ReloadOne of the largest concealed carry membership organizations has decided to dive into politics. The United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA), which boasts nearly 600,000 members, formed a Super PAC in May to influence federal elections and legislation. The new group, headed by chairman of the board Mike Lowney, is green but ready to fight.

This is good news. The NRA will be sidelined for a while, possibly even permanently. We need new people to get into the political side of this debate. Our gun rights are under serious attack right now.

Facebook backs down and stops censoring virus origin claims

Just The NewsFacebook will no longer eliminate posts that allege coronavirus is man-made or manufactured.

"In light of ongoing investigations into the origin of COVID-19 and in consultation with public health experts, we will no longer remove the claim that COVID-19 is man-made or manufactured from our apps," the company said on Wednesday. "We’re continuing to work with health experts to keep pace with the evolving nature of the pandemic and regularly update our policies as new facts and trends emerge."

The move represents an about-face for the social media giant which announced in February that it would start removing posts that made such claims.

Why such intense interest in censoring discussion of virus origination claims, a hugely significant step for Facebook? Why were these particular claims so important to shut down? Why the sudden and embarrassing about face?

CDC misrepresented study on outdoor transmission to incite panic

ReasonAfter Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), was criticized for grossly exaggerating the risk of outdoor COVID-19 transmission, she said she was relying on a study published in "one of our top infectious disease journals." But as I noted a couple of weeks ago, Walensky misrepresented that study, which was published by The Journal of Infectious Diseases in February, in several significant ways. Today New York Times columnist David Leonhardt, who first called attention to Walensky's hyperbole, reports that a co-author of the study agrees the CDC director's gloss was misleading.

I don't see what other purpose this misrepresentation could have had besides inciting panic and making people afraid to go outdoors.

Hunter Biden's Burisma salary dropped when Joe Biden left VP office

Gateway PunditFrom May 2014, Burisma Holdings Ltd. was paying Hunter $83,333 a month to sit on its board, invoices on his abandoned laptop show.

But in an email on March 19, 2017, Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi asked Hunter to sign a new director’s agreement and informed him “the only thing that was amended is the compensation rate.”

If it wasn't connected to Joe Biden's position as Vice President (at the time), why did the payments suddenly drop substantially as soon as Biden left office?

Luzerne County PA primary ballot party swap to be investigated

Gateway PunditDominion Voting Systems blamed “human error” for voting machines mislabeling Luzerne County Republican ballots in last week’s primary.

Republican ballots were mislabeled as Democrat ones on electronic screen at polling locations.

But Dominion says it wasn’t their fault.

Conservative TreehouseOfficials in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, have unanimously approved the district attorney to investigate the recent primary election after on-screen ballots mislabeled Republican ballots as Democrat candidates.

This absolutely should be investigated for possible criminal election fraud, but it does strike me as more of a human error -- someone forgetting to make the right edit, and sloppy quality control failing to catch it. (Technically, the county has admitted they do no quality control at all on what they get back from Dominion, which is insanely stupid and thus perfectly believable by politicians).

That said, it's also possible this is an unintended side effect of someone trying to do shenanigans and failing to do them well. And should absolutely force a do-over of the election regardless of what the investigation finds.

It will be interesting if the investigation does turn up any kind of deliberate tampering. I'm also curious if there is any kind of civil or criminal penalty for election negligence.

As the New Hampshire audit found with the folding ballot issue, it doesn't take much to cause election problems that are subtly directed at one party or the other.

How Facebook bought the election

Real Clear InvestigationsThe Center for Tech and Civic Life, or CTCL, provided millions of dollars in private funding for the elections that came from a $350 million donation from Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan. The CTCL gave “COVID-19 response” grants of varying amounts to 2,500 municipalities in 49 states.

In exchange for the money, elections divisions agreed to conduct their elections according to conditions set out by the CTCL, which is led by former members of the New Organizing Institute, a training center for progressive groups and Democratic campaigns.

It's not clear to me that this is currently illegal, but it certainly seems to be problematic. Election staff need to be independent and not beholden to financial agreements with partisan actors.

Facebook censoring "vaccine-hesitant speech"

Conservative TreehouseProject Veritas has revealed some explosive information provided by two Facebook whistleblowers. According to documents and testimony by the insiders, Facebook initiated a program to control the speech of users who were expressing “vaccine hesitancy”, or concerns about the COVID vaccine. Anyone who was concerned about the vaccine was given a “vaccine hesitancy ” score. Unbeknownst to the user, that score was then used to ban, remove or shadow-ban the content.

In essence any speech, sharing of information or comment discussion that is not in alignment with the pro-vaccine narrative is considered adverse to the interests of the Facebook platform. Those users are then targeted to suppress their voice.

When companies like facebook and the media collude to suppress opposition to their favored narrative and policies, they destroy any trust in anything they say or allow to be said. Censorship is counterproductive when your message is true. It's only when your message is false that it becomes necessary.

Cash seized from BLM/antifa organizer who incited at Capitol

Gateway PunditThe US government has seized $90,000 from Utah BLM-Antifa organizer who sold footage of the Capitol riot to NBC and CNN.

John Sullivan was paid tens of thousands of dollars by fake news media outlets for his footage of the Capitol riot.

Sullivan wore MAGA gear and claimed to be an independent reporter but he was actually a left-wing insurgence leader encouraging violence and telling people to “burn” the building.

Chances of this person's actual political affiliations being reported seem low.

Epstein did not kill himself

Daily WireThe two prison guards — Tova Noel and Michael Thomas — assigned to guard Jeffrey Epstein on the night that he died have admitted that they falsified prison records and have cut a deal with federal prosecutors.

“As part of the deal with prosecutors, they will enter into a deferred prosecution agreement with the Justice Department and will serve no time behind bars,” The Associated Press reported. “Noel and Thomas would instead be subjected to supervised release, would be required to complete 100 hours of community service and would be required to fully cooperate with an ongoing probe by the Justice Department’s inspector general.”

No jail time for complicity in murder.

They are required to cooperate, but if the official story is that Epstein killed himself, what's their incentive to say anything different?

Post Office running surveillance on social media posts

Legal InsurrectionLast month, Yahoo News ripped the lid off of a government surveillance program run by a division of the USPS. The program monitors, scans, and collects information on social media postings considered “inflammatory” enough to pass along to other government agencies. It includes posts promoting the coordination and planning of upcoming political demonstrations.

Why on earth is the post office running a political surveillance operation?

Oregon implements vaccine passports

UncoverDCOregon Governor, Kate Brown, wants her state to pave the way for adopting what some see as vaccine passports. On May 18, Brown issued, effective immediately, new “interim guidance for fully vaccinated individuals” that would effectively segregate those who are vaccinated and those who are not and make businesses responsible for policing the policy.

The harder they push everyone to take this vaccine, the more skeptical I am about it.

330K GA Ballots missing chain of custody, some arrived before being collected

Gateway PunditMichael Patrick Leahy: “Here’s what’s shocking about it, 85% of the (dropbox) ballots, or over 50,000 were not transported from the dropbox to the registrar immediately as the Georgia state law requires… 5% of them, well over 3,000 were delivered before they were picked up. How can you do that?

Steve Bannon: Stop, stop, stop! Walk me through – give me that one again. You’re breaking the law of physics.

Michael Patrick Leahy: We have examined, every single one of the 1,100 document transfer forms, collection box, dropbox collections from September 24 to November 3rd… One delivery in College Park was delivered 22 minutes before it was picked up!

The closer we look at this election, the more problems we seem to find.

Republicans who voted in favor of the Jan 6th investigation

Conservative TreehouseWell, the good news is we now know exactly who needs to be removed. The challenge will be to convince the republican base in each district to ignore the justifications the thirty-five members will attempt to use, and eliminate them from office as rapidly as possible.

Not a single one of these 35 “Republicans” should be re-elected. The Roll Call Vote is HERE Every GOP name on this list must be removed from office and/or primaried in the 2022 election. The names are also listed below. We will keep this at the top of the page. This is the list of shame.

Here's the list of Republican Senators who voted to open debate, along with all Democrats:

Broward County, Florida, offers illegal aliens ID cards for federal benefits

Judicial WatchFlorida’s second-most populous county is the state’s first to offer illegal immigrants identification cards so they can obtain taxpayer-funded services, including COVID-19 vaccines. Elected officials in Broward County, situated in southeast Florida with a population of about two million, unanimously passed the measure with ardent support from the county’s top law enforcement officer, Sheriff Gregory Tony. Republican Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Tony to the elected position after suspending former Broward Sheriff Scott Israel for mishandling the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Judge blocks grants favoring race, sex

Just The NewsA federal judge has granted a temporary restraining order barring the disbursement of coronavirus relief grants awarded to priority groups on the basis of race and gender.

The money for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund is meant to help restaurants and other eligible businesses amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

But there is an initial three-week period during which the Small Business Administration "will accept applications from all eligible applicants, but only process and fund priority group applications," according to the agency. "During this period, SBA will fund applications where the applicant has self-certified that it meets the eligibility requirements for a small business owned by women, veterans, or socially and economically disadvantaged individuals," the agency explains.

The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race (and sex, etc) is to stop discriminating on the basis of race (and sex, etc).

It's not just a good idea, it's the law.

Twitter sued for defamation over banning Biden's laptop contents

Just The NewsA defamation lawsuit against social media giant Twitter is accusing the company of unevenly enforcing its internal censorship policies depending on the political slant of the content in question.

The lawsuit was filed by Colorado resident John Paul Mac Isaac, a computer repair store owner who last year was thrust into the scrum of the bitter U.S. presidential race as it neared its end in October.

Twitter's blatantly partisan policies appear to be getting it into trouble. They can't hide behind section 230 forever.

Critical Race Theory is political indoctrination

Judicial WatchAdditionally, the documents show that Montgomery County Public Schools allocated over $454,000 for an “Anti-racist system audit” by The Mid-Atlantic Equity Consortium, a company that claims that their “expertise in using intersectionality as part of its theory of change makes us uniquely positioned to conduct the Anti-Racist Audit and mitigate the root causes of systemic barriers.”

In Thomas Pyle Middle School’s “social justice” class course curriculum, there is a slide titled “What is systemic racism?” in which students are shown a pyramid slide depicting “Differences between overt and covert hateful white supremacy.” According to the pyramid, “Make America Great Again” is an example of “covert white supremacy” that is “socially unacceptable.” The phrase is ranked on a pyramid just below “racial slurs.”

Examples of other unacceptable covert “white supremacy” include thinking “but we’re just one human family,” “colorblindness,” “cultural appropriation,” “celebration of Columbus Day,” “police murdering POC [people of color],” and “bootstrap theory.”

The vast majority of those statements have nothing to do with race, but quite a lot to do with politics. And one of the "class exercises" involves filling out and mailing a form letter demanding more critical race theory classes.

SPLC involved in political purge of military

Gateway PunditThe article by Ken Klippenstein, writing for the Intercept, describes a new Pentagon “Working Group” comprised largely of left-wing ideologues with a demonstrated bias against conservatives. Unfortunately, Ken’s editors at the Intercept had him focus on only two of the 18 names on the list–Michael Berry and Anat Agron and leave the impression that right-wing extremists have inflitrated the Working Group. But they are the only two with links to conservative groups.

If you take a closer look at the attached list you will see that at least 7 of the 18 members of this “Working Group” are or have been affiliated with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) or the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) or the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). These three groups have a disturbing history.

The SPLC has already thoroughly discredited itself, and any groups associated with them should have no part in anything like this. Not that that matters, since this is a political purge of the US military. Obama purged the officer core and Biden is purging the rank and file. The next step, likely in 2024, will be using the military against the people.

Fulton County GA still missing chain of custody documents in 2020 election

The Virginia StarSix months after the November 3, 2020 election, Fulton County has failed to produce complete chain of custody documents for 18,901 vote-by-mail absentee ballots deposited by voters into drop boxes.

The Fulton County missing documentation is a little more than five percent of the estimated 333,000 vote-by-mail absentee ballots cast in the November 3, 2020 general election for which chain of custody documentation is still missing.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has refused to collect, count, and verify the chain of custody documentation associated with an estimated 600,000 absentee vote by mail ballots deposited in drop boxes in the 2020 general election. Instead, Raffensperger has said it is a county responsibility. The Georgia Star News has filed Open Records Requests with all 159 counties in the state to obtain this documentation and report on it to the public.

I'm not sure how much of a big deal this is. But the lack of required documentation again suggests something to hide.
