Alito on philosophy:

In responding to a question on Roe v Wade, Alito laid out his philosophy of Constitutional interpertation as (paraphrased) finding the meaning of the text, as it was understood at the time.  That's not news, but it is nice to hear.

That's kinda news

From what I'd seen, up until now, he's been presented as a strict constructionist, this would make him an originalist. That is certainly better for anyone who actually believes in the Constitution. In effect, this view brings the federalist papers into play in constitutional law since they provide immesurable help in determining what the framers intended.

Definitely good news for the 2nd.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

I also read somewhere that he is an avid shooter. Also good news! What I saw was an interview with his wife where she mentioned his proficiency at double trap.
