Despite rumors, new law doesn't require permit for gunpowder, ammo
Rumors circulating among gun-rights advocates that a new
law requires reloading hobbyists and firearms owners to
obtain a license before they can buy gunpowder or
ammunition are false, experts and officials say.
"Rest assured, this law does not require a license for
buyers of reloading components," said the alert. "In fact,
existing federal explosive laws and regulations make
exceptions for black and smokeless powders, and the new
law did not amend those exceptions."
