Police are sued over killing of dog

It began one afternoon early last year, when two Seattle police officers rushed into a West Seattle apartment, looking for young men who had just beaten up a man on the street. Instead the officers found Princess, an 18-month-old American Staffordshire terrier, which, they said, charged at them. They shot the animal dead. An internal departmental review later said they were justified.
