King asked him if the NRA would support efforts to filibuster and
block the votes. Keene responded, "The President wants votes on these
issues. We want votes. There will be votes."
King also asked if the NRA would punish members of Congress who
support universal background checks on gun purchases, which the NRA once
supported but now opposes. Keene responded, "The answer is yes."
So the NRA won't support a ban on private sales, but won't support a filibuster of that ban either? Or do they want a cloture vote on which they expect Senators to vote no?
In a way, it doesn't matter. The voters will punish Senators who vote yes on gun control. Any gun control. So in that sense, sure, give us a vote. Let's find out who our friends and our enemies really are.
