It's not just the Exempt Media ignoring legitimate issues...


Patterico is feeling triumpant about the use of DNA testing to clear old cases.  Understandable, since he's a prosecutor, but still wrong.  There are many problems with taking DNA samples for storage in a government database, even if the sampling is limited to those convicted of felonies.... and the law he's so happy about also includes those merely charged with a felony, not just those convicted.

Allowing the government to build a comprehensive database of criminal DNA is one thing; allowing it to build such a database for all citizens is quite another.
