CNN Felony Gunswarm!

Since CNN aired a story on hw "easy" it is to legally purchase a .50 caliber rifle, and in the process appears to have violated the Gun Control Act of 1968 at least once and possibly more than once, the blogosphere has been in a rage.  This post serves to collect all the links in one place.  I had some problems editting this post earlier, so if I am missing any posts on this issue, please put them in trackbacks, or comments, or email.

CNN and the .50 Caliber story

CNN should not have special privileges because they are a news organization. They broke the law. They should suffer the consequence.

FYI

The silence from the media has been pretty bad. However, a local reporter has linked it on his blog:

The silence of the BATF

One of four things happened:

1. The reporter, Drew Griffin, bought a gun in Texas. Since he's not a Texas resident, that's a felony.

2. One of Drew Griffin's crew, who's a Texas resident, bought the rifle and let Griffin take it back to Atlanta. That's a straw sale.

3. The Texas resident who was the actual buyer--probably one of Griffin's crew--took actual possession of the rifle and transported it with him back to Atlanta. That's not illegal.

4. The rifle never left Texas.

#'s 1 and 2 make Drew Griffin a federal felon. #'s 3 and 4 make Griffin out to be just another lying media whore.

This story is huge, yet the media is ignoring it. Keep making the phone calls. CNN has to be called on the carpet for this.
