If you're interested in things that go bang...

... then you probably would enjoy the chance to shoot at things that go BOOM. The event is in Idaho, and it's called the Boomershoot. The premise is simple: you shoot at targets, and they explode if you hit them. It costs $100 for a spot on the line, and there are two days worth of precision rifle clinics if you want to sign up for those, too.

This is a pretty damn legendary event. And all reports indicate that it's a lot of fun. This year's event is scheduled for May 1st, with the precision rifle clinics on April 29th and 30th. I wonder how many gunbloggers will be there? (I haven't made up my mind yet, considering the length of the drive from Texas, but the organizer is offering free slots to gunbloggers who get his site 100 clickthroughs...)

The best type of liberty activism is to live it, and participating in events like this is one of the best ways to do it. Fun doesn't have to be politically correct.

UPDATE: The guy behind the Boomershoot has a blog.
