Amnesty

PJMediaRep. Will Hurd (R-Texas) said many of his Republican colleagues are “afraid” to vote for an immigration reform bill that includes a permanent fix for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and the only way to get it passed is “jamming this on people.”

“They are afraid of ultimately being pegged as ‘you support amnesty’ and that’s going to kill you in a Republican primary, right?” Hurd said during the discussion "Shaping Bipartisan Immigration Policy: What's Next?" at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) Leadership Conference on Wednesday.

Hurd introduced the Uniting and Securing America Act, or USA Act, with Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.) at the beginning of the year that would “provide relief from removal and adjustment of status of certain individuals who are long-term United States residents and who entered the United States before reaching the age of 18” as well as “improve border security.”

If you don't want to be pegged as supporting amnesty, perhaps you should consider not supporting amnesty.

40 million cases of identity theft by illegal immigrants

Washington ExaminerNearly 40 million Social Security numbers have been stolen and used by illegal immigrants and others to get work, according to agency records obtained by an immigration reform group.

The Immigration Reform Law Institute said that from 2012 to 2016 there were “39 million instances where names and Social Security numbers on W-2 tax forms did not match the corresponding Social Security records.”

The group said that there is a “thriving black market” used by illegal immigrants to get Social Security numbers needed to get a job.

That's a lot of identity theft, and every single illegal immigrant who wants to work for a living has to commit it. The presence of illegal immigrants is not harmless, even when they are working for a living and not committing violent crimes.

California registering huge numbrs of illegal voters

Front Page MagazineLast week California’s Department of Motor Vehicles sent 23,000 “erroneous” voter registrations to the office of Secretary of State Alex Padilla, who maintains the list of registered voters. The DMV blamed it technical errors and said none of the erroneous registrations involved undocumented immigrants. Padilla was “extremely disappointed and deeply frustrated” and the DMV assured him it wouldn’t happen again.

Legitimate voters have good reason to believe Padilla was not disappointed but delighted. The odds are strong that illegals make up most if not all of the newly registered voters. The registrations of illegals will be happening again, in greater numbers, as the November election approaches.

The day after the 23,000 registrations made news, it emerged that from late April to early August, the DMV registered 182,000 “new voters,” with the largest number, 112,000, choosing “no party.” Neither the DMV nor Padilla would explain the numbers but the trend is evident and all by design.

So why the big effort? Well, there's no presidential race this time around, but House Intel Committee chair Devin Nunes is from California, one of their rare rural seats. They would love to make him stop investigating their party's abuse of the FBI in 2016.

McConnell says no wall funding under after the election

CNSNewsFollowing a meeting at the White House on Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) told Fox News there's no chance of a government shutdown; a discussion about funding the border wall will happen "after the election"; and repeal and replace "would be difficult to achieve" in this Congress.

They have majorities in the House and the Senate, with a friendly President, and they can't pass the President's top campaign issue?

About that voter fraud that doesn't exist

CNSNewsA 37-year-old Mexican national in Texas has been charged with voter fraud for illegally voting in the 2016 election, Fox News reported Tuesday.According to Paxton’s office, Garza also voted in the 2004 and 2012 elections.According to Paxton, Garza registered to vote with the stolen identity of a U.S. citizen. The U.S. citizen became aware that Garza stole her identity when the U.S. citizen went to obtain a passport and was told someone had already done so using her name.

People keep claiming this doesn't exist. Clearly, it does.

California mayor issues warning of ICE sweep

SFGateThe relationship between U.S. immigration officials and California’s liberal leaders soured long ago, but Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf’s decision to warn potential targets of federal arrest that an immigration sweep could be imminent was an extraordinary escalation.

Schaaf said she issued the alert Saturday night after receiving confidential tips from “credible sources” who revealed that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, known as ICE, was planning arrests across the Bay Area as soon as Sunday.

Obstruction of justice is still a crime, isn't it? Passively not cooperating is one thing, but actively warning criminals is another.

UPDATE: The warning helped 850 illegals evade deportation.

Likely terror attack in Pennsylvania

A shooting spree by a man with an islamic/arab name, originally from Turkey, recently traveled to the middle east. Officials say he was targeting police officers. And the FBI appear to have stopped another attack before it was carried out, although in the latter case, we see the usual pattern of an FBI informant urging an individual to specific violent acts.

We can't stop terrorist attacks by pretending there are no terrorist attacks.

UPDATE: He's here on a chain-migration visa through a distant relative.
